Non Acetone Nail Polish Remover And Pregnancy

"Boys", Henry de Montherlant, 1973

book is a somewhat forgotten that I wish to present today.

In 1969, Henry published Montherlant Boys, one of his major works. Worked several times, he waited until the end of his life to complete and publish the pages of evocative love schoolgirls. And yet, many crossings have been removed from the first edition of 1969. I will not analyze the book, or give a summary. I refer to these pages, which can satisfy your curiosity:

A year after his death in 1972 seems finally the full version, without the redactions. It is a great book, printed on fine paper and beautifully illustrated by Edward Mac Avoy of 46 drawings reproduced in full page in the book. The majority (30) is black and white, but 16 are in color. Edward Mac Avoy (1905-1991) was a famous portrait of known portraits of Picasso, Dali, etc.. (See his official website: Edward Mac Avoy ). He is very clever to give life to different characters of the work of Montherlant. Of the 46 boards, I have selected 8 that illustrate more specifically the "protection"

For my part, I appreciate these portraits a bit dry and bare, but at the same time evocative and retained. As Elie

Grekoff (see the reproduction of drawings illustrating the very homoerotic Tiresias of Jouhandeau) or Pierre-Yves Trémois (which I will speak), Edward Mac Avoy belongs to this family artists, including most of the work (and reputation) is very far from the gay world, and yet who can make like no other, the male beauty and even the beauty of love between men. Thanks them is made.

As for the book itself, I found myself enjoying it. I thought to be bothered by this evocation of the universe outdated Catholic college (we still found some of that atmosphere when I was in a Catholic college in the late 70s). In fact, I am attached to this character Alban Bricoule. I liked his moral idealism, that spirit of Vindicator found often in adolescence. This is also an opportunity to recall that this book is free of the atmosphere of sin, guilt and moralism found in many literature Gay 50s (see Jean-Paul , Marcel Guersant friendships or special Peyrefitte). There is a freedom of tone and thought in the evocation of the characters: the uncompromising portrait, and rather malicious, mother, while the character ambiguity, a mixture of cunning and simplicity, the abbot of Pradts, priest without faith that combines respect for conventions with a large practice of inner freedom, etc.On feels that this book is very successful also very personal. Should we see a form of will, that of an old man who finds his adolescence, any integrity and bravery (See the evocation of the bullfight, omnipresent in this book).

The book is currently available in the Folio collection.

What was my surprise to find that this current edition does not contain passages added in the 1973 edition. Yet these passages, which clearly illuminate the text about the rest without allusive it too, seem well guarded about the moderation is the tone of the book. Maybe their content a bit more explicit about the customs bachelor (the famous "protection") is too outrageous. For those who want to read the book publishing full, they are left to find this issue or that of the Pleiades appeared in 1982.
